FIRE UPDATE: We Are Moving! As you may (or may not) know, back in November of 2023 there was a massive fire at our original location (687 Lofstrand Ln., Rockville MD 20850). And, while we were originally hoping to wait out the rebuilding process and reopen in our favored home, there simply was too much damage done to the building for that to be feasible & realistic. So we're going to have to pivot and, instead of staying put, we'll have to move. And, that's okay! Hey There, Motor Works Family! We hope you're all doing well, staying safe and sound. We know 2020 was a doozy, to put it mildly. So, we wanted to help put the focus on the positive in 2021, and are doing that with our Thankful Thursdays on Facebook. If you want to participate, it's super-simple - Just stop by the shop and fill out a slip or, shoot over an email if you prefer (or if you're still under lock-down/stay-home orders). We started brainstorming and planning out our "40 Acts of Kindness" last year, as a way to celebrate our 40th anniversary, and say "thank you" to all of our wonderful clients for all the support they have given us over the years. We came up with all sorts of good ideas, and one really great one, that we decided to run with. A weekly drawing, with a twist. Drum roll please..... Starting Monday, March 16th we will begin 40 Weeks of Paying It Forward. *Check out Sara's announcement video HERE (also on our Facebook page & YouTube channel, if you prefer). Happy Technical Tuesday Folks! Just a quick note to announce the official naming of Sara's new 2019 CR-V. She picked it up last month & so far, is loving every inch of it. He has been dubbed: Troopah, 19 of 4. You'll have to ask her what that means next time you're in, or, you are welcome to shoot her an email, if you're curious. Sara's still getting used to all the bells and whistles, but so far loves all the cool updated features - even the ones she's not quite sure she is ready to use regularly. Like how, if you allow it, the combination of Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Departure Mitigation, will get you pretty close to riding in a 'self driving car'. Dear Motor Works Family, Over the last 40 years (yes, we've really been here for that long!) we've made many changes and adjustments to the way we do what we do. We've added and subtracted brands to our line-up, upgraded our facilities, kept pace with - or been ahead of at times - the digital advancements in our industry, and so much more. Our clients have been central to all of these changes, have seen us through the good (and not so good) times, and we can't begin to thank them enough for all they do. As we prepared to go into our 40th year, we wanted to find ways to show our appreciation, and shake things up - just a bit. As some of you may already know, Motor Works is traditionally closed the period between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Our last working day of 2018 will be Thursday December 20th. Hey there Motor Works family! Sara here, with just a bit more info about our *NEW* Teacher Appreciation Program (T.A.P.), and what we’re going to be doing going forward, to show our love for the educational community. First, we’ll be extending a new “perk ” for teachers & educators in our area. As of June 2018, all of our clients who work with K-12 students will receive a percentage off their total – at every visit. Just give us a call (or shoot over an email) to learn more. Second, for the summer of 2018, we’ll be holding a ‘Supply Drive’ where we’ll be collecting much needed classroom supplies to be donated just in time for the ‘Back-to-School’ season. Motor Works will be matching whatever our clients bring in – so don’t hold back y’all! We’ll also be rewarding our clients who participate in the Supply Drive. Takata Bankruptcy Notice UPDATE (10/31/17): In the past few days, we’ve received numerous calls from our clients reporting they’ve received what looks like a “recall notice”, but is in actuality a legal notice related to Takata Corp’s Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Proceeding. We received several of these notices here as well (for our loaner car fleet). Just because you received this notice does not mean that your vehicle is subject to recall. The owner of any vehicle with a Takata airbag inflator, not just the ones that have been recalled, received this notice. Of course, we’re not going to give you legal advice on how to proceed, but we can tell you that we will not be filing any claims.
